Bikers Sundays

Bike show piccys2long long ago in a far off county, a brave young (cough) two stroke pilot decided his country pub would be better off with a small gathering of synthetic burning petrol heads gathering on the last Sunday of the month...and as that didn’t work he went for TWO STROKE & CLASSIC BIKE SUNDAYS instead !

well it all started two and a half years ago and we regularly get RGV’S LC’S RD’S KH’S KR1’S  TDR’S Sports moped’s and a cross section of off roaders & classic scooters (some of them used as weapons of mass destruction) loads of classic British bikes and even a large hog contingent may turn up! The biggest turn out was last summer with 200 bikes.

Why not click onto one of the web sites and see if you can join the knights of the pudding club coming from the south coast or the RGV posse coming from Northampton way, or hook up with the SHARDLOW MASSIVE from north Leicester.

8The Sundays are fairly relaxed we’re open from 11.00am with food available until 3.00pm, most folk arrive around 12.30 and its grab a pint and a bite to eat sit back watch chat and chill. Remember you don’t have to wait till a Sunday organise a ride over with some mates anytime!

As for me well as a juvenile 50 year old I have owned a few bikes .........well o.k.  156 so far, but that’s a story for another day enough to say I always will have a Yamaha stroker. as of now its a 4lo in yellow with lots of non standard mods, a 31k in French blue paint and a standard 3xv in black and grey.

"Anyhow the landlord,Paul, is a great bloke and they serve a mean nosebag with a special Bikers Menu for the Two Stroke Sunday gatherings, personally I don’t know if we can resist the Sunday dinner, but we can vouch for the bikers menu also, you won’t go hungry."

These are held throughout the year usually may-october and always on the last Sunday of the month, they are open to all motorcycles but predominetly two stroke and classic machines , the meetings have been steadily gaining support with the majority of the advertising through specialist sites on the internet and word of mouth.

The restaurant and bar areas offer a bikers menu through to 3.30 pm with all day breakfast and hot rib of beef baguette being popular.
